DRAWINGS AT SPEED

Drawing from life is an essential part of a Fine Art training. This fellow proved an excellent model and I enjoyed the challenge of trying to convey his bulky torso and limbs.

INJURY SERIES

Inspiration can come from the most unlikely sources. These drawings and photos from my 1993 sketchbook confirm Frida Kahlo’s influence upon my artwork, when I tore my Achilles tendon.

SONG OF LOVE

2012 Over the years I have built up a collection of animal skulls and bones gathered walking Menorca. Once unwanted, several have now been included in these framed assemblages. Giorgio de Chirico inspired Song of Love 1.

HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU

Much of the artwork displayed in this group investigates how much we all like to mask our faces, either hiding behind sunglasses or under the floppy brims of hats.In this collage the juxtaposition of several figures with black unseeing eyes from prehistoric times to the present day provided one of those rare moments of great creative excitement.

THE SAME BUT DIFFERENT PART 1 & 2

Creating handmade prints at home on the kitchen table without a machine is open to all kinds of problems, trials and errors, but creating this series of visual characters proved extremely rewarding.
